Default Map authentication process Garmin Montana 600 series

I am considering buying Garmin Montana 650. I now have a Etrex 30 and have downloaded many maps from this site and unlocked them with the tools found here ( I usually use fast img unlocker v2.1). All have worked without problems. I now read that the latest firmware updates to the Montana 600 series have a Map authentication process which may give problems. Anyone have any experience with this unit using this kind of unlocker?

I Think You have to run [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] on Map.
I've heard nothing about new protection in latest Montana 650 software version 6.20.
Only NTU Maps are Unpatchabled, as i know.

    Thank for your response
The new protection was added to firmware 5.60. This made many problems, including locking legitimate maps. This firmware was, however, withdrawn from download. whether or not newer firmware have any protecion I don't know. Change logs for firmware doesn't says anything about protection, but would be nice if someone with the Montana have any experince using latest topo maps in this unit. The maps I am planning to use is generally Topo maps

As you wrote, 5,60 has been withdrawn by Garmin because of many bricked devices.
Since 5.70 no protection has been added, you can unlock any map np, topos and CNE NTU too.
