    help Unlocking garmin maps help!

    Hello.

I have a Garmin Topo Poland 2014 which i have copied from my friend.
He bought this map, and i copied it from his sd card.
    I have files:
    euosm_cs.img
    euosm_ne.img
    euosm_wn.img
    gmapsupp.img
    gmapsupp.unl
    id.txt.
I tried to unlock this files with gimgunlock, but it does not work.
It would be grateful if anyone could give me short instruction what to do.
    Regards.

Hi karolex5, welcome to GPS Power.

I see this is your first post, so I'm not sure how experienced you are.
A good starting point is to have a look at our tutorial section first: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Here you will find the answer to most questions you may have.

The specifics how to place map files on a (micro)SD depend on what model GPS unit you use.
Please elaborate and we may be able to point you in the right direction.

My device is Garmin Astro 320. Basecamp shows that this map is in my sd card and i can explore this map in basecamp, but Astro does not show my map in map configuration. What I have to do?
I think my computer skills are okay, but I am not experienced with navigation, so I have a little troubles. Thanks for understanding.

The Astro 320 is used for dog tracking purposes. I am not familiar with this model myself. Maybe another member can confirm the specifics of map files on a microSD for this model.

Assuming this model is capable of recognising multiple map files on a microSD, you need to place them either in a root folder named Garmin or in a root folder named Map (this is where I am not sure). Try either name. Then of course make sure you have unlocked the map files properly. The tutorial section may be your guide there.

What is the size of the individual map files?

    euosm_cs.img - 4gb
    euosm_ne.img - 1 gb
    euosm_wn.img - 3 gb
    gmapsupp.img - 500 mb
Im not sure if i did it correctly, but i just put all of this files in gimgunlock.exe, and after that copied into sd card. After that i have no comunicate "cannot unlock maps", but i don't see any of them in my garmin. I can explore them when garmin is connected to the computer in basecamp.

What is the name of the folder you put the map files in? Did you try to change the name as suggested in post #4?
Also bear in mind that not all Garmin units are capable of recognising map files over 2GB in size (another point I am not sure about concerning the Astro 320).

What unit did or does your friend use the files in?

I copied that from another astro 320. I tried to name my folder "Garmin", and "Map". I had other maps before in device memory in folder "garmin", and it worked. I guess this is a matter of unlocking maps.

The standard method to unlock map files with gimgunlock is to create a shortcut on your desktop to this application and to drag & drop the map files into the shortcut one by one. They will be unlocked "in place".

I did that as you said, one by one.

Download [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (click link for info) and use it open one of the map files (drag & drop into the shortcut you create to it on your desktop).
Click the Details tab. Below is (only a small part of) an example of what you will see:

    Code:

Do you see the word "locked" as highlighted in red above? If so, the map is locked. If not, the map is unlocked.
