I did not read CID from the original. I get that info along with the files which must go on an SD. It's not a secret, the topic is here, but the links for the files are dead also not much discussion, so that's why I asked here.
Here is the original topic: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
CID is in the readme file which came with the package:
1. Link to download the content of the East Europe V8 maps for RNS315. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
OR [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
2.You need a Linux (Ubuntu) PC with integrated SD card reader. Linux 64bit
3.Only works with Samsung EVO+ SD (Red one)
Extract the content and copy on the SD, top folder is navpsf_update
Look under /dev to see which SD is yours, in my case it is mmcblk0
Change the CID with the attached tool
sudo ./mmc prog_cid /dev/mmcblk0 5d53424c32424d31013917ca53010400
remove the card and reinsert it
Now lock the card by password, it's not possible to unlock it with normal MMC
driver, you need a patched version of kernel to be able to unlock it. Password
you know from command below.
sudo ./mmc lock_sd /dev/mmcblk0 C99A20843ED7D90B6801E49F2BC80277
Enjoy your new maps!
This procedure works as stated from users on a different forum! Today I will try with another laptop with Ubuntu 64bit..
Thanks for the input ORAK. I have the "right one" and all necessary hw to finish tje job. Now I have just tested with Ubuntu 16.04 (x64) and now changing CID works perfectly. I have use this video: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
but now I'm struggling with the final step - to lock the SD with the password using this steps:
4- Copy local mmc_tools (I have mmc_tools folder with 2 files inside but I'm not exactly sure where to copy it)
9-Comand terminal: "sudo ./mmc lock_sd /dev/mmcblk0 C99A20843ED7D90B6801E49F2BC80277"
I copied the mmc_tools folder on desktop and open an terminal inside that folder..but when I'm trying to execute the command:
hp@hp:~/Desktop/mmc_tools$ sudo -s
[sudo] password for hp:
drwxr-xr-x 2 hp hp 4096 Oct 4 15:28 ./
drwxr-xr-x 3 hp hp 4096 Oct 5 20:57 ../
-rw-r--r-- 1 hp hp 854 Sep 10 00:01 how_to_RNS315.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 hp hp 357679 Sep 9 23:46 mmc
-rw-r--r-- 1 hp hp 240248 Sep 16 13:01 mmc32
than I execute command:
root@hp:~/Desktop/mmc_tools# sudo ./mmc lock_sd /dev/mmcblk0 C99A20843ED7D90B6801E49F2BC80277
sudo: ./mmc: command not found
