are you sure it's the right version? (it should)
Did you confirm the correct CID was written?

What capacity does your card have? The dump is slightly bigger than a standard 32 GB SD.

As it is to obvious, you did check the small switch to write protect the card?
Keep in mind that some PC based readers simply ignore it.
It's not really a HW based protection it's a software implementation.
Also some cheaper readers don't even check for it.

How did you compile it? The binary on github is for arm android only, you can NOT execute it directly on Linux! You need to use gcc to compile it from the source!

Thank you for your quick answer!
I compiled it. Then received a.out file. Using it instead of evoplus_cid I have got an answer "Unable to open device dev/block/mmcblk0". What am I doing wrong?

In Linux the path usually is /dev/mmcblk0 .
If this does not work, are you sure your SD card reader is compatible?
If the card reader is internally attached to the pci-e bus then most likely your device is compatible.

    check the output of

    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
you should find the mmc_block module

    then try
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
to see if you have such a device.

    you could also try
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
If none of these exist, bad luck! Your device does not work

You were right! And you are genius! I used the wrong path. Finally changed CID! But I noticed that it wrote the last symbol "0" instead of "1". But anyway I tried it and I have an answer "Please eject the SD Card and verify that the write protection switch is in the UNLOCKED position". I tried both positions. I also tried two other different sd adapters. Nothing helped.

Hi! I have been unsuccessful in changing the CID of any of my EVO PLUS MicroSD cards 32 GB and 64 GB. I believe the culprit is the Huawei Y360 phone. I really don't have access to a Samsung S? phone or Tablet. Would anyone in this forum that has a compiled linux version of evoplus_cid would be willing to share it with me? Or perhaps some entry-level instructions into how to compile the evoplus_cid for Ubuntu?

    @vak
I read somewhere that if you are using Android 4.4 it would not be able to write to some SD cards. I hope this helps:

EDIT: sorry just saw that you are trying with Ubuntu not from Android. The above does not apply to you but will leave it in the Forums in case it is relevant for anyone else.

    .
Yes I did. Now sure about checksum (00 instead of 01) but it shows 00 for every SD CARD I tried.
    32 GB Evoplus.
    No error during image writing.

Here is the exact error message :

    @emilgram
Everything is simple: you just use " gcc ./evoplus_cid " and receive a.out file. Then use it the same way you use evopluse_cid on android.

@TestBenz The reason of this message is not in the card or it's CID. The reason is how you wrote files on card. I had the same message after using Adamek files and HDDRawCopy. But after copying and pasting files everything worked fine.

Did anyone try to make an update from Mercedes-Benz Download manager? Does it work in the car?

It's the image of a 16GB card so a 32GB EVO Plus card would be fine.

Please contact only via PM if you

    • Have a C-Class Model 205 with the Audio 20 CD and the pre-installation for Garmin® MAP PILOT
    • How to download from Mega
    • how to unzip a multipart zip file
    • how to change the cid of an evoplus card
    • how to write a raw dump onto the new card
    • know how to test it in your car
    • can live with the fact that it might not work or might break something

For the moment this is only for people that can test it.
I want to make sure this gets some more testing before it can be shared with everyone.

I would not recommend to test it if you have a working system as we don't know the side effects yet and to how many cards the car can be married, but this is up to you!
I take no responsibility if your gps breaks or your car explodes

Please do NOT contact me if you can't do proper testing (see list) and have all the equipment NOW!
Hi, I have all the above but I'm unable to send PM since I just registered.
Can you contact me via mail or maybe it will work if you pm me?
