I have a question for you guys. I tried to change the CID based on the link you provided.
Did u use a rooted Android device as it is said? I compiled this code on my Ubuntu, executed and have the info:
    "Writing new CID: 744a605344432020023cffffffe14fffffffbc0001ffffff8b
Success! Remove and reinsert SD card to check new CID."
But after reinserting the card the CID is still the same. Does this code works only for Android device?
Just to be clear, I've bought the original Samsung Evo+ 32GB micro sd card.
Am I doing something wrong? Is the sd card I bought wrong? Or maybe I should try it on rooted Android device?

I can confirm it works on Linux (latest Ubuntu 16.04) if the card is exploitable.

I have the same output (with the addl ffffff), this is not the problem.
There are some 32GB Evo Plus card where the CID can not be changed out of 6 I ordered I have 4 that work and 2 that don't.

Try it again and check your system log (dmesg)
If the card is not exploitable you will see something like mmc write error in the log.
I can give you the exact details later today as I don't have access to my Laptop right now.

BTW..what car do you have? And what is the Mercedes Product/Part number of the card you uploaded?

First I cleared the system logs, then I restated the whole procedure of changing CID and checked for errors in logs. No errors was there in the system log. Did you always get the errors for non exploitable cards? Did you ordered 6 cards at the same store? I have ordered one from my local store (the one I have tried) and one from aliexpress - maybe I will have more luck with Chinese version of the card I don't think I'm going to by more card, as I'm doing it just for fun
My car is W176FL. I will send the part number later - (by the way I'm not quite sure if my card is actually the original one, as I bought it on Internet for just a little part of original price. But in fact it really looks like original).

    I did buy all 6 from Amazon.de .

There is the standard version and the frustration free packaging one.
I did order 3 each (they appear with slightly different pricing directly from Amazon).

All 3 of the frustration free packaged ones were exploitable but only 1 of the standard packaged ones.

    Thank you.

This is what I see when it's an evo plus card that is not expoitable.

    Code:

You can open a second shell as root (e.g. sudo su) while running the write command and trace with dmesg -wT which should be some
    sort of poor mans live-log.

For me, I can say, that it worked on a rooted Andoird device.
But as Stefan has already posted, he used Ubuntu and has encountered the same problem as you did.
Obviously, it's the SD card itselff. He tried another one (also 32 GB) and for this specific card it has worked.
I guess that it depends on the manufacturing charge!?

Just a hint as I did some more analytics

the SD cards that have a changeable CID are under this path within the sys pseudo-filesystem

    /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc0/mmc0\:0001/cid

The ones that do not work

    /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc0/mmc0\:59b4/cid

So if yours is not 0001 it will not work neither on Linux nor Android (I tried both).

I did a dump of the used card, you can find it here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Please let me know if you find any ineresting changes on the used card.
I will check today if I had a 0001 or different value there and let you know.

Hi, i read some messages on this thread, here is what i found,
    1. use hddrawcopy1.10portable.exe to make an disc image file from original card that came with my car.
    2. use hddrawcopy1.10portable.exe to restore previous image to a brand new sd card.
    3. successfully use mercedes download manager to update new sd card.
    4. insert new sd card into my Audio 20 system and popup message to confirm this card will be only use on this car, press ok, but it didn't work.
    5. try to change CID on the new SD card, yet find anything works.
