Hi, a silly thing I know, did it thinking it was a USB stick Id plugged in, no way to recover too, Iv'e tried. Iv'e emailed Garmin anyway. Thanks.
Hi thanks for that, I had already done the cure option right after I posted but not the original. It's all booting up correctly now but i'm back to having the exact same problem I had before. Every-time I attempt updating the maps the garmin powers off during install!
Is there a way I can install it somewhere else like on a HDD to then copy/paste the files over bit by bit. I'm unsure why the hell it keeps powering off when getting written too. But it doesn't power off when in actual use or simply powered on.
[EDIT] It's not a problem with the battery surely because it's almost or usually full battery levels plus it stays powered on forever without been connected through USB. And again it's not a issue with USB hosts because it's happening with my PC and a laptop (connected to the main motherboard USB headers). It's winding me up.

Yes, iv'e did the tutorial twice. Like I said it always powers off when installing the maps ... I managed to get it to fully install the map a long time ago after many several unsuccessful attempts due to powering off.
After formatting and loading original firmware what have you done?
You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
Iv'e tried installing the map using garmin express etc. Iv'e reset the device using lower right several times.
I mean: how did you get files to copy in formatted nuvi? Did it create garmindevice.xml correctly? Have you run Webupdater to get right files?

It installs files nuvi needs to work, text, voices keyboards, themes etc.
Have you checked if garmindevice.xml is ok ?
Have you tried to run Mapupdater instead of GE?
