If you have read the whole thread, you would have come across the answer to your question several times. Just for clarity, I will repeat it here:

To date, unlocked maps will not work on nvi 2xx9 devices. Either use OSM maps, or buy an official map.

    Hello,
I am leaving to UK (London area) this weekend and I was given a brand new Nuvi 55 (firmware 4.50) with maps "CN North America NT 2016.20". I am totally new to Garmin as I previously used iGO Worldwide (where adding a map was a matter of uploading a correct file onto device). Is there any chance to install a UK map onto this Nuvi?
I am aware of this topic:

but I have no idea which map would be accepted by device.

P.S. I am traveling quite often all over the world, so a way to upload maps of any country would be very much appreciated. Also I have only 2GB SD Card, so some files simply won't fit there.

Unlocked NT (not NTU) maps works fine with 4.50 firmware. You just need to use gimgunlock+mapsigpatch to unlock the .img.

Thanks, catymag. I have downloaded "City Navigator Europe NT 2016.20" already. What I am missing is an instruction on how to install these unlocked maps onto the device. I am sure it is available somewhere on this forum, but I could not locate it.

I guess you have a sd, well download the unlocker, drag and drop the .img in it, rename the .img as you like (CNEU.img for example) then copy in sd/Map/anyname.img.
    You are done

Asian nuvis have different firmware, different HWID, you can't flash US/EU firmware.
