Default Nuvi 1490T lost TMC icon

    My friend has Nuvi 1490T.
2-3 years ago he installed Alexander's FW Delux 5.11 and all goes like charm till two days ago by mistake he has cleared unit's nonvol memory. The result was bricked device due to system files failure.
As Alexander stopped support of his custom FW, my friend decided to turn back to official FW.
He has formatted the unit and restored it to FW 6.20. Nuvi works again, but the TMC icon completely disappeared.
    So the question is:
Can TMC visibility be restored on the unit?
TMC antenna is GTM25 with subscriptions for USA, CAN and BG.
You should keep in mind that my friend did not have copies of so called "regions" and off course he did not made any copy of file system.
Any advice will be highly appreciated, but as I have no the unit in my hands, it will take a while to test your proposals and to reply respectively.
Below you will find screen shots from unit's system menu. They show that traffic receiver is OK /at least I think so /.

Hello to all, i am a owner of the "broken"1490 without T (hope for now).
After install 6.2 via webupdater the GTM has update too.
In screen shots on service menu in every five minutes has a loop message "Bounce GTM" and antenna start search again.
And /ecc/ change every second from e1 to e2, nothing else.
I think this GTM update is a point to research (currently ver.3.10, last and only downloadable via myDashboard).
And other strange things, with web updater i can"t reach additional updates like cars, voices and keyboards.
Every time say has a new ver.6.20 and loop (in device version of fw is 6.20).
Garmin Express say no connection wit the device too (with installed USB drivers of Garmin, no mater of OS XP or Win7x64).
Only chance to reach additional updates is via myDashboard on the official website (not all updates, but most).
I research how to downgrade version of GTM but no success for now, the icon for traffic subscription has gone.
I attach a device .xml for research, and one more.
Custom fw has based on sg/mal version of software, this is very strange for me -

Its TW came from old custom version or is coincidence?
Thx in advance, i hope help masters to resolve this mystery with TMC on nuvi 1490 with 972 board.
Sorry for bad English, write without stupid g**gle translate.
    Cheers

    p.s
try to clear traffic providers list, master reset with attach antenna too, but no success.
There is a shot from service menu when press and hold battery indicator:

Where did you not see TMC icon? On map only?
Do you see traffic option in setting menu? If it is yes you can try reset GTM or check for validation of subscription. Alexaneder used Asia SW version and you need reset probably...

I have same issue with firmware 6.20 on my 1390 and 1490. Both lost the ability to communicate with the traffic cables, GTM-26 and GTM-25. I purchased a new GTM-26 with a Nuvi 2360 and that one works only with the 2360 GPS it came with. The traffic is not really effective anyway, when traffic is really heavy there are no alternative roads to take in New York. But it is a nice diversion which sometimes is helpful. Garmin should fix the problem which must be with their "updates".

Lppk for trafficprovider.xml in your .System folder, if you don't have it, then run webupdater and install.
If you wish, you can [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
