    Hi.
go to firmware section and read a bit
If nuvi has been formatted use kunix cure
    l9ebnsm
You have to navigate to get to the good.

You cannot 'restore' it by replacing the xml. The device will recreate it's own GarminDevice.xml on reboot anyway.

Connect it to WebUpdater and MapUpdater, or use GarminExpress, to replace most missing files including the time zone map and any detail maps to which it's entitled. You'll have to get a basemap from the index: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Helpfull. But it was impossible to download/update original map (roads of Russia), as a result I have a message that map is already updated, but no img. file on SD card. Than I found a small size map of Budapest and place it into internal memory of the device (very small only 600-700 mb free)- working. After replacing that img. file to SD card it becomes "invisible" to the nuvi. At the same time a "new data" files (poi for example) were easily recognised with suggestion to place them into internal memory. A little later SD card "falled off" So, to my mind I have a hardware problem and the solution is- dump!

If you use garmin.com services you will recieve message that map is already updated in any case if the map is not from City Naviagator series. Download new version of Road of Russia from here or download any old version and then use mapupdater from garmin.ru. By the way if you do not have garmindevice.xml in device it is halting of protected internal memory probably and you have lost official unlock too.

What's name of img file do you use for SD after copying? Only gmapsupp.img and gmapsup1.img (SW ver.6.20) are available.
Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?

As i mentioned above, the last problem was that during the connection to pc, the disc (with inserted SD) is shown empty. Before that happens I really tried to do all,You are wrote about (I treat with respect to all advices here)- in vain.
    So, thank you all!!

I suspect this device's region 41 had been compromised. Do you have a file named GarminDevice.tmp in the unit's Garmin folder, and does a backup of rgn41 exist?

Why would a non-working SD card slot prevent you from browsing the unit via USB? You reported earlier that you could do so, have you also lost MSM now? My previous post was not suggesting to do anything by SD yet, I was asking only if you have GarminDevice.tmp file in the unit's Garmin folder [rather than named .xml], and if you have a previous dump of the unit's rgn41 before the problem started.
