Default Annoying persistent EULA screen on nüvi 1490 each start-up

Bought a second hand nüvi 1490LMT. The unit works fine. However, on each start-up, the EULA screen pops up offering the choice to either accept or reject it (see screenshot below). I have been using this unit for more than a month now and no matter how often I have already accepted the EULA, it just doesn't seem to remember my choice and asks me the same question again on each next start-up. How to get rid of this annoying screen?

Searching on Google, I came across the same issue on a nüvi 2360, a nüvi 2475, a nüvi 2595 and a nüvi 3790. The suggested solution in each case is that the screen is supposed to stay away after the unit has established a proper satellite lock. Well, apparently that is not going to work for my unit as I am using it for more than a month now. Any suggestions most welcome.

If the above suggestion doesn't work, try to downgrade the firmware to an old one, get satellites fix, clear non vol ,then upgrade again to the newest one.

I assume you mean clearing the non volatile memory. How?

I reset the unit to factory default settings by touching the lower right hand corner of the screen during start-up and then setting the locale again. Would that achieve the same?

    For clear NVM:
    1) from main page click on View Map
    2) click on icon named <speed>
    3) click on center tachimeter for 6 sec
    4) click on Developer Info
    5) click Nonvol Available
    6) Click Clear Nonvol
    7) click Yes

Did all this, no luck. The EULA still shows on each subsequent start-up. Guess I will have to try Catymag's suggestion and load a previous FW version, get sat fix and reload the latest FW again.

Where do I find previous FW versions for nüvi 1490?

You need an older one, try to find 5.40 or 30 on Perry, or I'll upload sw for you.
