help Waypoints Screw Up Live Traffic On Nuvi 3597.

A couple of months ago i bought a nuvi 3597 unit after asking some advice here on this forum. I use this nuvi to go to my university. Now, to go there i "forced" my nuvi through the "ruote planner" to take a different road than the one advised (because i don't wanna pass through the center of the city). The problem is that "ruote planner" adds waypoints on the way and basically makes the traffic received through my android phone and the smartlink app useless. (Sometimes i see the traffic on the maps, yellow and red roads, but it doesn't come up during navigation even if i'm stuck in traffic asking for alternative ruote). Considering i bought this just to avoid traffic on my way to the uni, this is a big problem for me. Is there any way i can fix it (maybe by making the nuvi accept the ruote without the waypoints??)
    Thanks in advance

Edit: i forgot to add that i'd pass through the center of Milan if there was heavy traffic on the ruote i planned (but the garmin, with the planned ruote, won't allow me to do so).

I think these problems could appear because of trip deficiencies. You can try to use simple route instead but use your preferred way and see if nuvi recalculate route to suit your need.

I didn't understand your last sentence but it seems impossibile to me that there isn't a way to fix this by mantaining my route. Isn't it possibile to remove the waypoints on the route and "transform" it in a route the seems calculated by the nuvi ( and when there's traffic the nuvi will try to avoid it and the bring me back to "my" route)???

Edit: i read again your answer and understood what you meant but i've already tried that and the nuvi kept recalculating almost until i reached my uni (it was useless of course).

Did you try Custom avoidance feature? Use it to avoid certain roads or areas and nüvi will calculate the route based to that also.

    The OP is right,
If you code in a Trip Planner route it has to fulfill each segment of the route before it will attempt the next segment.
You can manually send the Nuvi to the next waypoint by going into Trip planner on the Nuvi.
Traffic is innefective when using Planned Trips most of the time. Traffic is innefective most of the time anyway.
I can count on the fingers of one hand how many time traffic has helped me.

Thanks for all the replies, i guess i'll have to set my waypoints "strategically" in order to make the traffic work at least on the most congested routes. Thanks again.
