    Default Garmin Quatix Fitness Modes

    Hi Guys,

i don`t have the quatix yet.
I`d like to know if the quatix also got the indoor mode or skiing mode?
Does the quatix support the .fit file format?

What fitness profile does the quatix offer?

    Big THX!

Quatix device hasn't this modes. My friend has it for sailing and there is no profiles like skiing. Quatix is primarily for sailing. It has "sailing", "powerboat" and "watersports" profiles.

Yes I know that it is for sailing
But who does say that a skipper doesn`t want to ski or to go running ...
It is only software. The quatix is more expensive than the Fenix, so why the Quatix doesn`t have the features of the Fenix + sailing features....
Or both watches get all features but other design.

I won`t buy both watches... No .. I will buy no one because of that.

The quatix is more expensive than the Fenix particularly due to accessories in box. The Fenix only have in box USB cable AC adapter with plug in Finland and cost 425€. The Quatix cost 469€ but it have additionally USB/Charger cable, 2 band of different color and spare Screws with Torx tool in box. And I do not know it is Tide info is value for cost or no for Quatix...

There is also fenix performance bundle version (010-01040-11) with two wrist bands, HRM, torx, screws etc just like in quatix but in addition - HRM. It is a little bit more expensive than quatix. You can also look at it.

Because Garmin thinks that if you make many units with scarced functionality you would get bigger profit. But on the opposite it has a reverse effect. Good news is that you can find ways here how to replace the preloaded firmware in the device. If I am not mistaken there is already a topic with instruction how to upload the quatix firmware in fenix.

Honestly I don't know what so important sailing futures quatix have which someone would prefer compared to fenix.

Wonder if i could get a D2 (because it looks best) and flash the quatix firmware

Yes there are much more features in the fenix than in the quatix. But some features as the COG and SOG are the most usefull and not there in the fenix i think.
Anyway, it would be a great thing of garmin if they give all watches all features and the same Firmware.
They would sell more and the user could decide which look he prefers.
