Pointless buying big cards imo when your 3797 has 8GiB on board anyway. All NA CNNT and ancillary files will fit on the unit. If you want to use other maps just put them on the smallest card required to take them and ancillary files. All AUNZ CNNT map and extras will fit on a 2GiB card for instance, only about 1.2GiB in total. Not so long ago ['back in the good ol' days'] i remember that a 1 GiB card could handle all the AU bits 'n' bobs for a 3790.

Any good branded microSD is ok. Garmin still only recommend Sandisk & Kingston i think. Most of mine are Sandisk but I've also used Kingston, Samsung, RiData, Lexar, Team, Transcend, Kingston and other lesser know ones like KingMax and even Corsair [which i've heard bad things from my photographer mate about] and 'no-name' cards from China & Hong Kong. None of them have caused me any problems. Best avoid the unknown sellers on eBay though. I just buy what's on special to be honest, and don't worry too much about the speed class. All SDHC cards speeds 4 to 10 will read much the same, the 'class' is it's minimum write speed and anyway Garmin units don't write to the card in normal operation, they only read from it. If you copy maps to the card while it's in the unit or a slow card reader/writer there's a speed bottleneck anyway there.
