    Default 265wt Hardware ID

    Sorry to say it has been awhile since I have used my 265wt and wanted to do some updating. Where do I find the hardware id on this unit. Been so long I forgot where almost everything is. Thanks

    If you mean unit ID is in Settings/About or look at Garmindevice.xml in your unit's files, or at your MyGarmin page if you registered it.
    If you mean the serial n :At the bottom of the unit, in a highlighted box (remove the mounting bracket to make it visible).

    Thanks for the reply. I want to update the firmware and saw a few different ones. Some included MTK I believe it was though I don't figure I need that one, just the nuvi2x5W_GCDFile__760.gcd if I remember correctly. Just want to be sure.

    <SoftwareVersion>500</SoftwareVersion>
    <Description>nüvi 40</Description>
    </Model>

    Use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to see HWID in firmware, it must be the same than in Garmindevice.xml as Roger suggested above

    you can also use G7toWin, it will read the HWID and software version in pre-boot mode.
