NUVI Does the US traffc receiver works in Singapore? US 3790 set

Bought a US set of 3790lmt. Managed to convert it into a local set thru SG/MY v2.30. However, it does not seems to receive any traffic info via the traffic receiver.

Is this due to the different freq used in different region? Or do I need to do something to enable the function?

Your US traffic receiver maybe can have a local traffic subscription added. The lifetime traffic included with your receiver (GTM36 maybe?) has only the Navteq & TTN subscriptions for North America. Contact Garmin Singapore to buy, or post in this existing thread for help: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Perhaps someone has the FID PID RiD VID numbers for SG/MY so you can add it as explained there.

Thanks for the reply. My GPS came with the GTM35.
However, I read that Singapore traffic does not require a subscription. In this case, do I still need all the codes?

Also, I see some people meddling around with the trafficprovider.xml.
And when downloading map from this post [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], i see the FID number being posted. Does this have something to do with the traffic subscription as well? What does the FID do really?

Sorry for so many questions asked.Tks

GMT35 is sold in SG (only one I think maybe?) and Navteq traffic is only available for SG, not for MY it appears:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
Try connecting your receiver to 3790 and then it to PC, then press the 'Update' tab on the above page. Maybe you will get lucky and your 35 will be offered the updated local traffic subscription that way(??) if the device & receiver US origin isn't detected. If not contact Garmin SG for advice or wait for more informed replies here. Maybe post in the other thread as i suggested earlier if you get nowhere. Sorry, guessing a bit and have no personal experience with SG traffic, just what i've read.
