The vpm format is garmins' proprietary format - is no doubt!!! It is standard Garmin container like map (img) file. Open it in text editor and look for DSKIMG signature.

Absolutely no secret for reverse engineering! Or you wait what Garmin share ready for use compiler with Windows GUI here. If about the first there are a certain proportion of the probability to see compiler code but about Windows GUI I think no

I try demo of nuance vocalizer and i found out that no Slovenian voice support.

    @Giomen

Do we have some tool to extract voice from TTS.vpm?
What reverse engineering you talking about?
If we can extract voice from tts then we only need to replace with own voice, but i cant find tool or data to extract tts voice.

Try Gmaptool or GPSDaemon or any other program what split Garmin IMG to separate files. That is the problem? This VPM file is not encrypted as what is created with VoiceStudio. I see in Hex editor DAT files (obviously made in Nuane) and other files?!
But if you do not know structure of Garmin IMG you must ask for help guru only.

Give me for example name of TTS file with version and I tell you how I am finding all subfile in it! I do it as a usually country boy in the HEX editor.

I looked inside tts file, As Giomen Says its a container like a map.

    Header: 11.08.2009 08:00:10, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 2.00, Ms 0, 006-D0376-00
    Mapset: Karen
    fat: 400h - 600h - 6000h, block 2048
    maps: 7, sub-files 7

    Sub-file fat length
    DLLINFO TXT 600h 799
    KARN_DAT DAT 800h 13545072
    KARN_USL DAT 4000h 2136584
    DICT BDC 4A00h 1478
    DLLIMG BIN 4C00h 2153660
    DLLIMG SIG 5600h 65
    IMGEND TST 5800h 3

I think we need someone like Turboccc, who has already done a lot of work on this to explain how it works.
He suddenly dissapeared from Internet about July sometime. !

Even TurboCCC did not play TTS sound! He only tried to change a visible parameters...

I think you may use IDA program for next investigation. DAT files contain low level program code...
