Call Garmin. They will unregister your unit from previous owner account. Lifetime update should remain valid and appear on your account if you register.
    Thanks, Kanopus

There is a one more of interesting moment. For using MapUpdater we will need to get the MapUpdater. So we go to DashBoard and garmin server get info about device. Moreover then we press button for getting of MapUpdater the server generate link what includes some ID (Like HEX: 0102030405060708090a0b0c0d0e0f). This ID is present in device for example in UIStats.log file. After all of that no more problem with update usually...

I think Lifetime should be available even if you haven't registered your device, but in case of Onetime update you probably have to register, show your ifix and request update. Once you are allowed to download it you can do it on a clean pendrive containing only \Garmin\GarminDevice.xml from your nuvi, with no logs or other data accessible for MapUpdater.
    Thanks, Kanopus

    You can also go to:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
and you can update the nuvi maps without entering in MyGarmin or registering the unit. The page will also give you to download Garmin MapUpdater for the update.

    Also you can read that
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links

I don't like that at all. May as well go ahead and register the product.

I don't like that I must have the unique e-mail address for each registering record (each device). Why?! I have a fleet of device but most of them have a owners which pays for itself. I do not want to know anything about credit card of these owners but I want see Garmin responses in my protected e-mail...
