    Default Can somebody help me transfer an update map from one garmin to another

    I need help transfering a map from one Garmin unit to another is there a way to do it? thanks in advance

    You should be able to do that but there may be issues. More detail please!

    It would help to know the GPS models and the map vname and version you are trying to transfer so someone cana help you.

    It may be just as easy to download a map for the 2nd unit.

    If you have unlocked img in one nuvi you can transfer copy/paste to another.

    I have a garmin nuvi 1490t my friend have a 1490lmt I want to transfer the maps that he get the updated ones in my unit but when I transfer them to my unit the maps don't open I hve tried to do it with mapsource patched and with mapinstall patched but the maps do not open.

    I have also tried to copy the maps directly into the folder of my unit 1490t but have not been able to make work

    remove old .unl and .gma, if the map is unlocked correctly,it will show

    You have to navigate to get to the good.
