Default First time, having trouble installing map 3490 LMT

    Hi Guys,

Sorry, i gues this should have gone under map requests thread. I don't know how to move/delete.

I just got a 3490 LMT. I've read the tutorials but still seem to have trouble adding a map. Here's what I've done.

    1. I downloaded MENA_2012_30.rar
    2. Unrar to MENA_2012_30.rar
    3. I've tried leaving the name as it is, and also changing it to gmapsupp.img
    4. On both varients I run Fast IMG Unlocker 2.1
    5. Copied file to my Memory card on the device.
    6. Restarted device

Neither the device nor Basecamp "sees" the file.

In the tutorials I also read that I could find a .system folder by turning off hide files and hide system files. I've done that and don't see .system or the preinstall map on my device. I do however in windows see windows system files e..g desktop.ini, etc.

Did I miss a step somewhere? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

To have .System folder back, read this post: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Most important is: "Go to MTP Settings and set it to Mass storage mode."

Thanks a lot voyager56 and catymag. I was able to get the map working using CNE and putting it in my root folder of SD. I also put the 3D file there and it seems to work.

I also put on my SD under Garmin, the folder (and files) for JCV and G2S. So it looks like
    SD\Garmin\JCV\*.JCV
    SD\Garmin\G2S\*.G2S

Does that sound right to you?
