    Default Lock a img-file

    Hi!
    I have i img-file with a map I use in a Garmin Astro 220.
Is there any software who let me lock this img-file so it only can be used in one unit? Just like an original unl-file from Garmin....
I have the original locked img-file, and the unlocked img-file.

Use the locked IMG file in combination with an UNL file which contains the unlock code for that particular one unit. Create the unlock code with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Instructions how to use in post #2.

I can't get this working. I've copied the original map-file, GMAPSUPP.img, to the memorycard with GMAPSUPP.unl.
In the GMAPSUPP.unl I paste the unlockcode I generated from Jetmouse Keygen.
When I boot up the GPS, I get the message: "The map can not be verified"

This is a Garmin Astro 320, and the mapid is 4548.
Can someone please help me? :-)

May be do you get the unauthenticated map message?
use Fast IMG Unlocker instead of .unl, look for it in Garmin software section (sticky thread)

I've already used Fast IMG unlocker to open the map, and it works. But I want to lock/secure the map.
I've copied the original map (GMAPSUPP.img) to a memorycard, and created a GMAPSUPP.UNL with a code generated from Jetmouse. But when I boot up the GPS, I get this error: "The map can not be verified"

Maybe Jetmouse can't generate codes for this new map? MapID is 4548. It's a Topo Premium map for Norway

If you have the original I guess it is locked, you cant lock a Garmin map, or probably it can be done with Mapsource Product Creator, try .
Actually maps need a .gma and an .unl file to be authenticated and unlocked. The .gma file can be created just by Garmin and it works on just one unit.
The alternative is the unlocker, but it unlocks, it cant lock ,lol-
Any hope you can share that map?

I want to lock/secure the map.
What do you mean with lock/secure the map? The original is locked: what do you need more?
Cant resell locked Garmin maps coz cant create .gma and I agree

Garmin implemented a second verification stage in early 2010. The reason was to protect their new maps from unlock codes generated by KGs. The implementation considers all Garmin maps with MapID/FID >=2200 as "new" maps that needs GMA digital certificate authentication.
Newer units gets GMA aware firmware and some of the older gets FW updates to implement the GMA technology. The consequence is that you need a unlock code for unlocking maps and you also need a GMA-file for authenticating locked maps with MapID/FID >=2200. In this case, step 1 = unlock with code and step 2 = authentication with GMA.
Many 3rd part map creators using cGPSmapper had to alter their map series since they used the upper range of MapIDs. Maps from providers like OnRoute stopped to work in 2010 and as a result they recomplied the maps to new MapIDs < 2200.

For Garmin systems that's GMA protected:
The only possible way to have the locked map with MapID 4548 to be unlocked only by 25-character code would be to alter the MapID to a value below 2200. Otherwise you have to use unlock removal as with Fast IMG Unlocker.
Guessing it's "Topo Premium - 3 Oslo" we are dealing with here?
