Thanks for the suggestions. Yep I do have a problem, no 3D buildings.

I know paths are important, but if mine were wrong...
1st they would not show in the settings/myMaps and
2nd if I re-install City Navigator Europe NTU (Unicode) 2012.10 with the corresponding JCV files and gMap3d files using exactly the same paths everything works.

I am not sure I understand what you mean. I am using the gMap3D posted by catymag here...

unless you are suggesting to change the file name or use the gMap3D NT instead of the gMap NTU.

May you post a screen of your folders in 3790 and their non working files inside ?
It could be easier to discover why they're not working
    about this:
1st they would not show in the settings/myMaps
wrong : when i tested Sing/May sw 3D map was showing up in my Maps list but I couldnt see 3D buildings in my CNE map coz that fw didnt support NTU 3D buildings map

I am happy to post some screenshots, but I am not sure which ones you mean.

Do you mean a screenshot of my Garmin..system folder taken from my PC or do you mean folders on the unit itself.
If it is on the unit I have never seen any access to the folders except holding down the "Top Right hand corner" which gives you access to the flash drive info etc.

    Thanks.

Looking at your screen shot I see that you have NTU version whereas catymag explicitly wrote about 3D NT on SD.
    I don't have 3790, can't check myself.
    Thanks, Kanopus

Error will update in a bit..

    OK...

New files on the SD card
Old files on in the system folder.

    System Folder
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    SD/Map/CNENTU.img and SD/Map/gmap3d.img
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    SD/Garmin/JCV/xxxxx.jcv
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Deleting these old files from the Garmin system folder makes no difference the gmap3d still does not show in the map view...........

    gmapprom.img
    gmapprom.sum
    gmapprom.unl
    gmapprom.gma
    GMAP3D.IMG
    gmap3d.sum

I have also tried changing the gmap3D.img to CNENTU3D.img in the sd/map folder, but no joy

    First :
full CNE NTU 2012. 20 is 2,28 GB (2.456.748.032 byte)
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links

    AmI2V

and NTU gmap3D.img is 389 MB (408.911.872 byte)
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
    Ei0sc

May be something wrong in your files ? check them with Gmaptool.

Second : if you have also the old CNE map and the old 3Dmap along the new maps ,Nuvi wont show up any map properly .

Third: if your maps have been downloaded "regular" keep naturally .gma and .unl files, but if you downloaded them from Noeman, backup them on pc and delete them after copying the new files on Nuvi. They'r old maps related and will interfere with new ones showing up on Nuvi- But I think you already did it -

    OK.

I decided to start again to make sure there were no errors.

    I re-downloaded City Navigator Europe NTU (Unicode) 2012.20 + gmap3d + JCV from catymag....

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I deleted all the old maps from the 3790T/system/folder
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I installed the 2012.20 map + GMAP3D + JCV to the SD card.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] . [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

The gmap3d still does not show the buildings.

To check it was not the card I put the files from the SD card into the Garmin/system folder. Still no joy.

    Do you unlock gmap3d.img?
Try hard reset of nuvi, but before make backup of folder gpx.
