Default A map of 1869.8 MB does not fit on a 1881.7 MB card...

Can anyone explain what's wrong in the screenshot below:

    errormessagez

I deselected another map tile of 10 MB and then all went well. However, now I have 22 MB space left over on the SD card. In other words: there was space enough in the first place...

Right click on your drive and select properties to see its real capacity

It's a 2 GB microSD card. Real capacity being 1.8376 GB, being 1881.7 MB. That's also what MapInstall found...

I think the mapsource and mapinstall programms is not simply filemanager. They are intend for work with device in first of all. So it have rights for some reserve for free memory...

Note the word 'approximately' in the error pop-up message. To verify Giomen's conjecture, just use the patched MapSource to send the IMG file to your hard drive. Then try using Windows Explorer to transfer the IMG file over to the SD card via a card reader. Plug the SD card into your GPS, enable the maps, and see if the maps work.
