NAVCO (one of the Garmin distributors in the Philippines) also told me that they sell the 3760T, so why isn't the 3790T firmware-modifiable?

Great ! if they sell 3790PH., so you just try to make a rgn file to convert 3790US to be 3790PH.
You need PH&US firmware to be modified.
( If you can get PH firmware. )

Sorry but I don't exactly understand you, can you please rephrase? They sell 3760 not 3790, by the way.

    Oh! sorry, I missread.
    but it's not matter.
    The fact is
    3750US can be modified to 3790Sg/My., 3790Chinese

So 3790US may be modified to be 3760PH too.

Do you mean you can flash the firmware over different models of Nuvi?

Where can I get the modified firmwares for the Philippines?

3790 & 3750 is not exactly the different model.
Because 3750US & 3790US use the same firmware.
3750 Chinese & 3790 Chinese also use the same firmware..

So do you recommend me to buy the 3790T now and I will be able to use all its features here in the Philippines?

    I think I can't recomment because...
    1). I just know about 3790 US., 3790Sg/My., 3790CHN., 3790TW., not 3760PH
    2). Because of 1). so I don't know about 3760PH' features.

You should find more data ...
1).about 3760PH features., to compare with other regions.
2).3760PH firmware...to test about 3790US can be modified to 3760PH or not.
If not ., so you just think about 3790US features that you like or not.
    3).....

    I got 3790US because...
    1). It's cheaper.
    2). I can modified to use Asian firmware (Sg/My 2.30., CHN2.20)

But now it's not exactly true because US unit may not be modified to use Asian firmware anymore.
And no one know till the modified rgn is made and test to flash nuvi across region.

For this reason., if we don't have 3760PH firmware so no one know 3790US can be modified to use 3760PH firmware or not.
