Thread: Oregon 300 - map mode blank, when go to 'select map' - nothing listed

I have a Garmin Oregon 300, and whenever I navigate to the 'map', it just displays my position with an arrow, and a gray screen behind it. Furthermore when I navigate to Setup -> maps -> select map, it just pulls up a blank screen with nothing there.

On my GPS there is only 65mb used, of which a 50mb file is gmapbmap.img. I'm wondering if this is the only file that is supposed to come with the GPS for maps? I'm going to be travelling to costa rica tomorrow, and I really want to set this up for the trip.

Perhaps I accidentally erased the maps off of it?

I just did an update to 4.10, but still no luck. It doesn't seem like garmin offers me any maps to download for this for costa rica, or for free for that matter..

Am I missing maps, what's up? Why won't it display?
