Red face Lost with my new GPS

Hi all, just finding the joys of having a GPS -geocaching, car route planning (instead of relying on the wife map reading!!). Loving it!! Trying now for a couple of weeks to get GB Discoverer maps onto my Dakota 20 with no success, sooo frustrating. Any help much appretiated. Lots of good work going on here.
    Cheers

Which GB Discoverer maps are you trying to put onto your Dakota 20?

    Thanks for replying.
I've been trying to put on the GB discoverer Northern England and Midlands with zero sucsess. I have followed instructions found on this forum for installing onto micro SD using V 1.5 keygen, writing the unlock key onto notepad saving as gmapsupp.unl (all files not text) and transferring that and gmapsupp.img to SD but nothing appears when I switch the device on. I have read that the firmware on the Dakota's won't allow maps to be put on this way, any truth in that?
I have been searching for the GB dicoverer full coverage with no luck, does anyone know where I could find it?
Please, any help would be much appreciated as my wife is calling herself the GPS widow!!

have you copied in sd in a Garmin folder ?
If you have the last firmware ,run on the IMG this ,before copying in the Garmin folder

I have tried downloading Fast IMG unlocker a few times but when it comes to opening it Winrar goes ape and my security tells me it has quaranteened a trojan!
Do I name a folder - Garmin then copy the gamapsupp.img into that?

    it's virus free, it's a false alarm
yes you must create a Garmin folder in your sd and copy the gmapsupp.img into it

Eureeeeka!! It took blood, sweat and tears (and much shaking of the fist at my lovely new Dakota 20!) but I finally have OS maps on the screen!
It's the National parks not the Northern England & Midlands that it was meant to be but I'm chuffed to bits!

    Many, many thanks Catymag

I shall hopefully never be lost with my GPS now!!

    Thanks again
