I picked up the smaller brother of it the Oregon 200.
First update to the latest firmware, the older firmware are a bit problematic.
I put in a 16 GB MicroSD which gives infinity space for maps.
But for recommendations on Maps....tell which countries you are interested. If you use it in USA you'll look for different maps than if you use it in Russia......
I could not figure out which maps support 3 D view. I installed the Austrian Topo v2 but can't activate 3D view.....Would like to try this feature. Or maybe I do something wrong.

I just got an Oregon 450t. When you put a map on the SD card it is called gmapsupp.img . Every time you put a new map on the SD card the file is overwritten. To overcome this problem you can rename the file to anyname.img . Oregon still recognizes the maps. I got this info from my supplier. He told me that the Oregon is the only Garmin unit with this feature. In setup you can enable/disable various maps. It is possible to keep various maps enabled at the same time, even when the overlap.

Well I am in Canada and am looking for a combo of topo and lakes
There is a Map called Inland Lakes Ontario that might be good but I havenít seen it yet.
I am finding as well it is hit and miss with the 3d view on different maps.
    I bought 2 x 2 gb and 1 x 4gb Micro SD cards
There is a Topo Canada that is just under 4 gb so I will try it and see how it is.

I have been playing with the img files a bit and there are some pretty good ones out there so far.
