Default Garmin gmapsupp.img unlocker+Unlock BlueChart g2&g2 vision maps

On the web I found information that makes it possible to create an unlocked map file from locked mapfiles. The disadvantage of this was that you have type in a lot of commands in a DOS/CMD windows.

That why I created the attached tool/script, It does it all for you.

Read the included "How To Use.txt".

    Have fun with it.

I have made some updates to script and now it also works for BlueChart maps, it is able to retreive the FID PID and uses it.

    New script is attached

Nice scripting nmab. Confirmed working on WinXP!!!

I have an idea that would make your tool even more useful. Unfortunately, I lack in the knowledge needed to modify the cmd file and make the changes needed to do what I want to do. I'll send you a PM to see if your interested in working with me to do this.

    Thumbs up

When nmab first posted his attached "Unlock Garmin Maps.rar" file, I confirmed
that it worked as I had posted here. So I thought hey... I wonder if it would work
on a BlueChart g2/g2 Vision map, but unfortunately it did not. Anyway that was
the idea I had, so I sent him a PM because I have never worked with script files
before, but I believed that it could be done using his upload as a template.

I've been working on it since then (and I see he is as well now) and although it
requires a little input by the end user by editing the script file, the attached
upload below does work with the BlueChart g2/g2 Vision maps. It will create an
unlocked file that is structurally as close a possible to the original locked file.

I'm hopeful, that with some input from others here having more experience with
script files than I (none... lol), that with what both nmab and I have independently
done so far, this can be more refined. Like not requiring that the end user has to edit
the script file for every different map that they want to unlock for BlueChart g2/g2
Vision maps... as is in my attempted solution of using his tool as a template.
Ideally, if this could be made into an executable program, that would be the icing
    on the cake.

I've attached the file below. Although it is named "Unlock BlueChart g2 & g2
Vision Maps", It will also work with all other Garmin GMAPSUPP.IMG type map files
as well. Make sure that you read the "README1ST.txt" file before running the script.

UPDATES: I will update this thread with any changes made to the file below and start
a Change Log list here as well if I can correct any problems with it's use and/or
improve it in any way. I only have WinXP to test with, so I can not resolve if another
OS is used unless other users can correct and/or inform me of their solutions by posting
    them here and/or PM.

    CHANGE LOG/PROBLEMS:

Problem #01: Status: Resolved, but not implemented yet.
If used with some maps the below error may occur:

    Writing: header
The system cannot find the path specified.
    0 file(s) copied.

    Solution:
Problem identified and a fix has been tested that resolves the issue.
The problem will only effect probably less than 2% of the maps out there.
Therefore, I will wait for more feedback before the correction is implemented
    in an updated upload.
