Default Trying to fix a bricked nüvi 465T

I bought a nüvi 465T on eBay which is stuck in a continuous reboot cycle of 5 seconds. It powers up, shows the splash screen for a few seconds, then briefly flashes a fully white screen and then reboots.

I am able to get it in pre-boot mode and successfully used GarminCure3.exe and Updater.exe to flash cure FW v4.20 into the unit. However, it still reboots continuously (both on external power, as on USB cable linked to the computer).

Any other suggestions to fix this unit?

Strongly implies a damaged flash drive i think.

Do you format it with prep usb?
Try flash FW 4.10 on device.

I am unable to format, since the unit keeps rebooting every 5 seconds. After flashing cure FW it will not go into mass storage mode.

Originally, the unit came with FW 3.60 (established with g7towin64), but I can't find this version for download (all links here have expired), so I used 4.20 from the Garmin website instead.

Maybe NV is corrupt. But if update.txt commands are not supported, you can't erase it.
I could help you, but I'm out of time and I don't want to give you promises that I can't keep (as it happened with your previous unit )

Thanks, but also with the 3.60 cure version the unit keeps rebooting.

Unlike the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (which I assume you refer to), this is my own unit and I am not in a hurry to fix it. The challenge to fix it and the educational aspects related to it are well worth having patience. The unit will still be here whenever you can find some time, kunix.

SF, i'm assuming you already tried SD text commands both with the original and patched ldr.bin as we did with the zumo before opening this thread, correct?

Not yet, but on my 'to do list'. Will report back when done.

Went back to this thread: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] in order to apply the same method to the nüvi 456T. Unfortunately, even before the nüvi can read from the SD card, it already gets into the continuous reboot cycle.
