How to get gmapprom (CN-NA) from Nuvi to Legend HCX

How do I transfer my CN-North America (Gmapprom) from my 2555LMT to my Legend HCX. I transfer the file to my hard drive and try to unlock it with Fast Image Unlocker, but FIU truncates the gmapprom form a 1.3GB file to a 600 MB file that’s not unlocked or recognized by the Legend or cannot be installed directly in mapsource using G-MAP/GSMAPPER.

What’s the easiest way to accomplish this?

I would be satisfied to be able to either get it loaded on the HD or the Legend HCX; but I think the truncation using FIU from 1.3GB to 600 MB is the problem. Something is wrong with the unlocking process.

I found the solution.

I could not use the img file that came installed on the GPS. I had to use the map updater and install City Navigator directly to my hard drive.

Once on my hard drive, I created/selected the mapset in mapsource and sent the mapset as gmapsupp.img to my hard drive.

I was able to unlock this file with FIU (no truncation) and it was successfully sent to the Etrex Legend HCX and appears to be working well.

FIU = nice little program.
