    Default SD Cards ID Numbers

    I see many threads stating to insert the SD cards 10 digit Id number when using Jetmouse Keygen.

    I have only used Sandisk cards since I believe they are the best,
    however, not all their cards have 10 digit ID's.

    I used to have a 2GB Sandisk- that had 10 digits
    I now have 3 other Sandisk cards.
    1 card is 4GB Class 4/ that has 8 digits
    2 cards that are 8GB Class 4/ they have 9 digits

    It looks to me that the size of the card determines how many digits it has.

    Curious to know if other manufacturers hav 8GB cards using a 10 digit ID#.

    Although I only entered 8 or 9 digits into Jetmouse Keygen, the unlock codes worked.

    Why all this misunderstanding about < 10 digits for UnitID or CID?

    In a mathematical numeric set of 10 "whole numbers" (natural numbers including 0) and 10 digit positions then you can include OR EXCLUDE the first leading zeroes.

    CardID/CID like "12345678" is actually also "0012345678" in a 10 digit domain. So it's still 10 digits with suppression of the two leading 0's in this case. In this 10 position math space it's equaly important with leading 0's as with trailing 0's. However in our math notation it's very common to write the shorter truncated version when we have leading 0's since we understand the value in booth cases.

    Thanks for your explanation but it's too confusing for me to understand.
    The message I wanted to convey is so many posts state to enter a 10 digit ID code when in fact a 8 or 9 digit will work. They should be saying "enter the SD card's ID number (regardless of the # of digits).

    It's a 10 digit field to enter numbers in. That's the limitation and ranging from "0000000000" to "9999999999" in this case with 10 placeholders for {0-9} in each place.
    Why should 0's in "1000000000" make it a 10 digit number but disqualify "0000000001" from also being a 10 digit number? The only difference is that we often choose to be lazy and write "0000000001" as value "1" instead and trim/suppress the leading 0's.

    Imagine that you have a combination lock with 5 wheels where each wheel is with numbers from 0-9.

    If you choose to have your code as
    [0][7][2][4][1]
    would that suddenly be a combination lock with 4 digits/wheels just because the first one is 0?
