I want to use an offline TYP editor to change the look of Garmin and OSM maps on my Oregon 450 (change what is displayed, and how it is displayed).
TYPViewer or TYPWiz (or is there another one)?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of each editor?
Thanks for your help!
Try both editors for comparison, you get to choose ...
The TYPViewer v4.0.8 can now be downloaded from
Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
Changes made from 4.0.6 to 4.0.8:
- Fixed bug when creating new polylines Active Routing: it is now possible to add polylines nouveles for Active Routing (remember, in this case, to pass the length of the header to at least 174 bytes if it is not already).
- Added a warning message when trying to save a file typ in use in BaseCamp or MapSource (that is to say when trying to change the file associated with typ open in Mapsource mapset or BaseCamp) : the user is prompted to close these programs to continue recording.
- Fixed several other bugs (including translation).
- Language files updated.

Thank you kenta2.
I have integrated your file in latest version of TYPViewer 4.0.6 ( some bugs have been fixed from 4.0.5 to 4.0.6 but no new feature...)
It should be mentioned that last versions of TYPViewer supports Active Routing, i.e it supports the different polylines corresponding to the different Activity Profiles.
It is now possible to change or edit the polylines for every Activity Profile (more precisely for the 6 Activity Profiles used in the recent maps Topo Germany 2012 Pro and Transalpin 2012 Pro).
