Default Oregon 450 BIRDS EYE images ?

Hi guys, I bought an Oregon 450 and saw that with Basemap we can download images from Google Earth and send them to the gps and drive on those images. It's fantastic, because I use my Oregon in a TT bike, so I have all the trails in the photos, but it costs an anual subscription...

I read many post on this mater, but or my English isn't enough or there isn't yet a patched version of Basemap to overcome the problem.
Is that correct? Can't we find a way to "test" big BirdsEye images in the Oregon?

sorry if this has already been treated in another place, but I did't find a definitive answer to that.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Hi Catymag, thanks for your links, but please help me a little more, what I did was download the first link and put the xml file in a pen, on my PC. After that I run Basecamp and say "no" to the question it makes at the beginning...
After that I must download an image with Basecamp and send it to the pen, correct?
But then must I patch the Oregon 450 firmware? Which firmware must I use? How can I do it (it's the first tme I patch a firmware)?
I saw that I can download a file called GUPDATE.GCD, is that the firmware? Where must I put it?
And if the unit doesn't initialize, how can I put back the old one?
I saw in my 450 that I have the 4.50 software.

Sorry because all my doubts, but i'm a little inexperient with this stuff and my Englsih isn't also very good...

    Thanks

The first link leads you to a test mode version: you can download just small areas files-
If you want to download bigger files tou must patch your firmware (second link) It disables most of the checks made by the JNX loader in the device too.
you should read all the instructions here

Hi again, I must be doing something wrong, because I only get little demo's on My Oregon 450. I had the 4.50 firmware and downgrade to 4.32 then upgrade again to "Patched 4.50". I patched also Basecamp but when I try to download an image with Basecamp it says that I has no subscription and when I select the limits of the image and download it and click on "send it to gps after downloading", it says again that it will send only a little demo file and that is what I get on the Oregon, a little Demo.jnx of about 336 KB and not the 90MB I download...
    What am I doing wrong?
Must I download the image to another place (not the Oregon) and then copy it and past it in the Oregon's \Garmin\BirdsEye directory?

    One more time thank you
