Hi all, our Jeep forum friends are chipping away at this for the UConnect 8.4 and is possible however a level of technical knowledge is required. I am one in Australia just following this. Aust Laredo's need a license code and the work around is PC connection via Jeep USB using certain brand / version of USB to RJ45 physical connection and telnet access to the unit (no security) then add a map license file from a map update file (must match MY year) to "activate" existing 2012 maps in the system. I know its a 4 year old map but at lease something. I'm waiting on a dongle to try as others have successfully done. Method (2) and more advanced is preparing a USB drive with modified files (scripts) causing iGO Current including 3D map files with genuine license file (Approx 30au) and install. For current maps, only downside is each time you do a fireware update (really not necessary) you have to redo the map update. There is a few threads of really advance technical talk but will resolve to a simple process, perhaps over next couple of months. Once I confirm the first basic steps will be confirmation posting before I move to the more advanced methods. Hope this helps on status for now.
