the older, the better, as you can burn DVDs with the slowest speed possible (1x or 2,5x burning speed). Newer burners doesn't support burning speed lower than 6x which usually lead to a poor copy.

No special settings, firmwares or particular brands are required for Business navi, that is only relevant for some other systems like Audi RNS-E, TravelPilot DX cd's.

    Thanks for fast reply

I find in this forum in other thread you said ASUS DRW-24B5ST is excellent for Audi RNS-E, is that burner good for TravelPilot DX cd's to?
Can that ASUS with good Verbatim disk burn 1x or 2,5 burning speed?
I found some RNS-E compatible DVD burner list in this forum:
    ASUS:
    DRW-1814BLT Fw: 1.14
DRW-24B5ST Fw 1.0 don't forget to disable Burn Proof!
    DWR-24B5ST-14

DWR-24B5ST-14 is that number "14" after DWR-24B5ST means FW 1.14 or not?

i found this models in secondhand webstore with serial number and model number you can see screenshot is they compatible for RNS-E and TravelPilot DX cd's

and is this pioneer good: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

ASUS DRW-24B5ST is suitable only for RNS-E. Your best chances for burning TravelPilot DX cd's is Pioneer 112DBK (second link). You can burn CD's with the factory firmware...You can use also make a working copy with Pioneer 215DBK (from the first link). If you have a chance, buy them both

Liteon DH20A3H is also approved for RNS-E, but with some special firmware which I don't know and I don't have any experience with it.

    Good luck

No special firmware required for 24B5ST. I'm using factory firmware. But keep in mind that there is no 100% guarantee that this (or any other "approved" burner) will always give you a working copy. I said many times it's not all about the burner and the media itself, it also depends from the lens mechanism health state in your car. If it's worn or dirty, there is no such burner that will make you happy

Also, when your burner arrives, check the label to make sure that you really get 24B5ST, because I read that many people order exact same model but they get ASUS DRW-24B1ST or similar..

Now we are completely off topic, this topic is about BMW Business..

Verbatim DL, imgBurn and 2.4x (minimum speed in an ASUS laptop). I only needed the first disc.

    It worked for me, thanks!

Very many times there are problems with the dvd reader inside the car. People are searching for the proper dvd writer or better dvd's but many times the lens do a strange thing, they can read original dvd but not copied dvd's, so, don't get crazy if it does'n work, could be the reader inside the car. I tried cleaning the lens with those special dvd's but nothing. I saw it many times even with audio cd on some stereos, original buyed music cd ok, when you put one writed on a computer not ok. Have a nice day everyone.
