I've seen similar issues with a dodgy download/copy to SD card too. As janch suggests try another SD card (preferably Sandisk) and if that doesn't help download it again and compare the file sizes after extracting to see if there's any difference

can the activator from h ttp://map-activation.info/ only used once for the 6.22.4 maps?
Or can I use the activator in future map updates ?

Well today I tried it with different SD Card(brand new Class 10 SDHC Sandisk) + downloaded whole map data again from the different link but still same result...

Any ideas how to fix it?

    Thx
    D.

Plus I tried to update 6.20.4 map but again same result... Question mark instead of Y or N.
It seems that it's somehow related to the green menu and Nav patition...

I see some funcions in green menu like:
    Diagnose--Settings--active HDD Nav DB
    Or
    System--Emergency update

    Guys,

This link can be also very useful

    Still no...

But I think it's good idea to remove HDD for the next time and make a backup of the HDD as it's described on audienthusiasts (link above).
Then you can try whatever you want on you MMI

I am afraid that something is wrong in the Nav partition. Today I tried to force MMI to perform emergency update what was working pretty well (all you have to do is to activate it in the green menu and put SD with FW into the 1st slot) but still there is question mark next to the MAP....
All other functions are fine (DVD, Jukebox, Radio, BT, etc...)

    Any other ideas?

    Thx

Interesting, recently another user (from a different forum) struggled with the similar error code and he managed to solve the problem. But he experienced that problem while updating firmware and not map database as in your case. Anyway, here is his solution it may help you:

I had a pretty bad experience yesterday with a happy ending, I thought it might be nice to share.

    The problem:
I've tried to update my firmware (MMI 3G+) to K0767 and got the following error:

    GEMMI_nav:0 error code 141
I could only access "Retry" choice (but update kept blocking at 5% with the same error) or "Back" button that was useless
Unable to do anything else, even the Reset procedure didn't work!

    Root cause:
This is a file corruption error, the MMI didn't like what it found on the SD card.
Because I'm a stupid software engineer who thinks he knows best, I didn't trust the forums and copied the files from my mac onto the SD card (using command line to clean-up the .Trashes/ and alike folders)
So this is the lesson: DO NOT COPY FROM A MAC
Sub-lesson: better learn from other's mistakes than redo the experience...

    Solution:
As stated previously, even a MMI reset procedure didn't allow me to get out of the error.
As explained on a French forum, I had to unplug the battery to make the MMI reboot. At this point, it was still showing error (not finding whatever files) but at least that was allowing me to retry the upgrade. Note that I still couldn't switch the MMI off, meaning it would suck my battery power to death...

So I went to my neighbour's Windows PC, reformatted the SD card and extracted the RAR archive onto it.
Back to the car, update went fine and completed successfully after 30 minutes

Hope this experience will help some fellow here...

    Thank you for hint

I have MAC and I used it for download/copy.
I showed hidden files in the Windows and I can see what is the problem:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    and same for sub-folders....

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

So now I am going to use my Windows Laptop to edit map - delete hidden files-mirrored links...

In my opinion that's the root cause as file names are same...

I will let you know the result

    Hi guys,

    Problem finally fixed!

LESSONS LEARNED - NEVER USE MAC OS (or Unix, Linux based OS) for unpack and copy map or firmware data into SD card. Also always format SD card in Windows OS. USE ONLY WINDOWS FOR UNPACK/COPY!!!

I had to upgrade Firmware as well. I could not load map data even they were copied in windows. It means that also Firmware was corrupted.
I found cca 10 000 hidden files on Firmware SD card. Dangerous is that Firmware seemed to be OK all the time but it was not and I could destroy whole MMI
(Imagine that FPGA or EEPROM is burned with some hidden apple .bin file....).

I would like to say BIG THANK YOU ESPECIALLY TO JANCH!
