Oke, thankas for the information. But what i read on the site is that it is permitted to install languages by a firmware update.

    Languages:
The EEPROM holds a list of languages that can be permitted to be install during firmware updates, the NAR (North American Region) units only have English, Spanish and French. Whilst European units have English GB, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Swedish etc..

It would be nice when you read the the full text and not what you liked

If you need to install languages, you have to modify EEPROM first and then then re-apply the appropriate firmware files. The language setup is introduced by EEPROM, referenced by root-ifs.ifs file on the flash and the actual language files are saved on the hard drive.
Simply Your version MMI has US English , European version of FW has GB English and therefore have a problem with displaying text on the screen

For European version of FW you need GB English. I hope you now understand

    Hello guys,

First of all, thanks for the superb posting. After fixing my earlier problem, i am facing a new one. I am getting a weird fault after updating my firmware and the latest maps for the mmi 3g hdd. Everyting is gone well, also the activating of the maps. But by selecting the navi option straight after the first reboot the navi works wel. The map displays, it finds my position but than suddenly after a couple of minutes the navi jumps to "the navigation data is not compitable". Any of you guys knows what can cause this error. A reboot will not fix this error. Only installing the FSC fixes this and than the drama begins again. Same error repeats it selves. I really will apreciate any help for fixing this. I will post screenshots also. Thanks in advance.

    Greetings,

When i try to activate maps i keep getting activation failed, was the ignition switch on? I check and i see mac in green menu so that isn't problem. mac is 001cd72b40f9 so code should be 4410?
    Solved.

First of all wlan must be activated before proceeding..

-in green menu activate the WLAN: Diagnose>settings>wlan_settings>activate it
    -reboot MMI
-rename your file Xcode_00040009.fsc to 4410_00040009.fsc
-copy both files to the SD card root: (4410_00040009.fsc and copie_scr.sh)
-start the car and wait until MMI is fully loaded (usually 5-10 minutes)
-Insert the SD card into the first MMI slot, wait for it (15-60 seconds) if everything is done according to the instructions, the MMI will be rebooted once again and the activation should be successful.

900 firmware and Maps 2016 - 8R0051884DF must already be installed.

    Hi,

Is there any easy and cheap solution to get error code out of mmi after activation besides a genuine vcds cable? I believe they are hundreds of and not worth the money for only erasing navigation related errors.

    Thanx!

No, there is no other way..And AFAIK this error is visible only with diagnostic inspections, so for regular MMI usage, there is nothing visible related to it so in other words you'll never see it
