Unhappy Audi Navigation Plus Travelpilot DX

    Hello

    I have MY 2002 S6 with RNS 4.1 H06 BNO 0017, according to VCDS.

I have the Scandinavia 2013-2014 DX and Blaupunkt Travelpilot DX 2013-2014 (Major roads of Europe) software.

I have burned alot of cds now with different settings with Clonecd. Burning 1x speed and TeleAtlas settings and also on the fly.

I have software update ok but after Navigation is being activated the text appears "The cd is incompitable"

The media I tried is TDK, Fujifilm & Princo. Fujifilm & Princo gives cd is defective= bad media I guess.

The burner I have is HP DVDRW UJ8FBA and driver version 6.3.9600.16384.

Try different media or another burner - what is recommended and known?

I have also cleaned the lens in GPS....[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    BR

Your problem is CD burner..there are only a few which can make a working copy of a TravelPilot DX cd's.. Anyway, here are some hints:

    - Only use Clonecd 5.3.0.1
    - always use profile setting Teleatlas.ccp
    - Minimum speed setting max. 4x
    - Amplify weak sectors
    - Most DVD writers can not write a reliable navigation cd some have a minimum speed of 16!
    - Best option is to look for a very old cd writer with a max speed of 4.
    - Most Plextors are very good
    - Also the TSST drives in laptops (Medion) write perfect copies although minimum speed is 10.4
    - Only use media with a blue reflection layer (Only TAYHO YUDEN / JVC for eg.), Verbatim..

    tested and working on:

    ASUS DRW-2014S1T
    SAMSUNG SH-S223C
    Apple MacBook Air Superdrive
    HP CDDVDW TS-L633N
    Liteon IHAS124-19C
    Plextor px-798A

    ..and some others.

    Hi

Will look 4 the cd's tomorrow - found a shop with Verbatime but need to check 4 the blue reflection. Thought only dvd and DL had this surface, Never seen on CD-R.
Clone Cd 5.3.0.1 and Teleatlas ccp is used.
The burner will be next topic to find. Have some TSST laying in boxes from old laptops, have no external (right now anyway maybe tomorrow)

    Thanx for the hints :-)

    Hi

I have finally maid a working copy and I can say it took alot of tries

The key to my succes was the right media JVC Tayho Yuden but the only working burner i could do it in was my HP laptop burner and in slowest speed 1700kb/s about 10x speed. All my other burner burnt in 8x speed about 1400 kb/s.
Could not find one with 4x speed.

Nevertheless hope my comments helps someone else out there

Which HP burner does your laptop have, out of interest?

I mainly use my Asus in the desktop but interested to know about alternatives as burns are a bit hit and miss. I think it might be vehicle related more than drive....

FYI, i use an asus DRW-24B5ST and a sony optiarc 5280S
both supremely capable burners, but even so it is down to the individual RNS-E being able to read home made discs. the Mk2 hi-res units are much more reliable than the first. and the older the RNS-E, the less chance a perfectly created backup will work
