both drives are capable burning 2-layer discs..even 10+ years old burners can The main question is if any of these burners is capable making a perfect copy. Anyway, I think you have better chance with imac burner. You should try and post the results.
Verbatim is one of the most reliable brand for burning navigation data discs. Taiyo Yuden may be the best of all but I've never heard anyone mentioning Arita media discs as successful for burning RNS-E or MFD discs..But who knows, you may be lucky
Will it work on audi a6 2002 - RNS-D ?
no this is for RNS-E, DVD media.
RNS-D uses CD's
most definitely will not work. ever.

there is no point for any manual settings in imgburn (changing book type etc..). That was crucial in early imgburn versions, long time ago! Just select .mds, leave all settings default and burn with the slowest speed possible (2.4 or 4x is perfect). Imgburn will set everything automatic. All it matters now is:
- suitable DVD writer
- good quality DVD's
- clean and good shape of a laser mechanism in your RNS-E unit (very important)
i burned the disc, but unfortunately it did not work in my audi, it did not even try to update the software, and said ''insert navigation disc'''
I had this problem until a hour ago.
I made a disc on a MacBook Pro but my RNSE would not read it, then decided to make a CD with the firmware update files as recommended on some sites using the files on the disc made, which the system then read and updated itself to 0650 but displayed an X-- as I used the speed camera version
I then inserted my 2015 disc and all worked great
