First keep in mind this:
New firmware looks for digital signature in maps, unlocked maps don't have it.
You can find on forum some"patched" maps for new protected devices, but till when ? and not all.
Devices with protected firmware: Nuvi 55/56/65/66/25x9/26x9, zūmo 590, GPSMAP 64, Edge 1000.

The missus has managed to wash my combat trousers with my Garmin in the pocket and as you might have guessed it's stopped working.

So I'm in need of a new SatNav and would appreciate any recommendations based on manufacturer and screen size. I've been quite happy with the Garmin 1410 before it drowned.

Oh M8 that is funny "after the fact" and I guess it depends on what device model it was as to how water proof it was and what type of washing machine, I have an OLD type Garmin and it's water Proof enough and should survive a Tumble type washer less than 60c degrees, maybe. Hope these nice peps can solve your problem, I will watch and see the info coz one day mine will break and need a replacement.
