And what is your result with City Navigator China NT 2013.10AN HK/Macau?
Just out of curiosity, because the previous map from an iPhone is part of the City Navigator China
This Map is an independent map from Garmin for Hong Kong.

I realized this map is a new version of one of these maps probably:

    Code:

All are shifted, I just wanted to know if "006B082300.bin" still works to correct offset?

Thanks for testing, sd.kfz.7. From looking at your screen shots, I suppose you are commenting on syzygy's venus shift-corrected version. I am seeing the same magnitude of shifts in basecamp. The shift for the uncorrected version is of course even larger. I have some saved waypoints from Hong Kong, and I notice that, when using the shift-corrected version, as I zoom-in, the waypoint moves; i.e., the distance (between the displayed location of the waypoint, and where I believe the waypoint should be) decreases from 300 meters down to about 25 meters at the closest zoom. I don't remember seeing this moving waypoint behavior in the Venus maps for China. I wonder whether you see the same "current location movement" on your gps in Hong Kong when you change the zoom level.

I test with my A10 (Hong Kong), it has the .bin file to handle the shifted map, therefore, it appears correct.

    This is my original 2011.20

Those are the maps stored in my cellphone

Bingo! 2012.40NI works! (the railway line is different).

I test again in my A50 (Sg) with the .bin insertion. result will be on next followup thread. Since A10 is in used for driving.

Hi! I did this test on this early morning with my "patched" A50 (sg). First, I copy the .bin file from A10 (hk) to A50 (sg) same location...[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

then use the old map 2011.20 (refer to my another post or map index)
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    definitely it not shifted!
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    okay, then I select 2012.42NI
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Shift fixed!!
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

tips to toggle between shifted map and un-shifted map, you may reboot your nuvifone if you find it shifted upon toggle map.
the .bin file exist is not affected if you use non-shift map, i.e. you can save to continue use the old map.

I am wondering why the map is smaller than 2011.20 especially the JCV, please continue to read next followup thread.

    Actual uses with my A50sg

The line drawing of railway is much more batter then before e.g. 2011.42, 2011.20 (2011.42 seems the first iPhone app from Garmin, shifted)
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

those are the JCV, more line drawing to reduce the size of JCV file

Highway display is not available, I am not sure actually its not, or A50sg not supported. 2011.20 has highway display but only display the most far exit.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

More speed limit shown (here is between Pok Oi Hospital and Au Tau roundabout, Yuen Long)
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    added even.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    But this is wrong, there hasn't 60km/h limit, it should 110, 100, 80, 70, 50, 30.
In this highway is only 50km/h
