Ah, I understand now what you meant. Don't think that would apply with 41 for sure and for the 'regen' reason you've said. Not everything is rewritten to 41 on reboot after erasure however which is why a good backup as a BIN is so important. Interestingly, it doesn't seem to matter how old the backup file is either. It can be years old and still used to successfully restore/overwrite (xrgn) a corrupt or empty 41.

Ok, from what I've read, 41 is used as non-volatile memory for storing data such as serial/key for content such as maps. If it's "regenerated", where does it gets those data from? And "regenerated" only if there are codes to do it. Obviously reformatting and running cure won't get you the codes to do it. The codes are in boot or main firmware?

Interesting question! I have a very uninteresting answer: I dunno. I only know that it does get partly re-populated, the how is beyond my ken.

The problem with 41 is that since it contained info considered to be "private", no one is posting it for people to analyzed. Isn't it also encrypted?

See if removing the file mlg_history.db from .System\SQLite helps the boot time. Back it up first of course.
